BOISE, Idaho - Boise State head women’s tennis coach Beck Roghaar has been selected to coach the Intermountain Region Team at the United States Tennis Association’s Junior National Girls Team Championship this weekend in Claremont, Calif. The squad is made up of seven 16-18 year old girls from the intermountain states of Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming.

“I’m very honored to have been selected to coach the intermountain team at the upcoming team national event in Claremont (Calif.),” said Roghaar. “It’s an amazing event where the top players in the six intermountain states get their first taste of the college dual match atmosphere and format, which is very different than any of the other junior tournaments they play during the year. We have a great group of players on this year’s squad, and we look forward to squaring off with the high level of competition from the other sections around the country. It’s pretty special for me to be able to represent the intermountain region now as a coach after growing up representing the region as a player in events like this. We can’t wait to get out there and compete.”

Roghaar is entering his fifth year as head coach of the Broncos. In Roghaar’s first four seasons with the Broncos his accomplishments include: three winning seasons, a 51-40 duals record, one regular-season conference championship, one conference tournament runner-up finish, 16 all-conference honors, 19 academic all-conference members and 11 Mountain West Scholar-Athlete awards for maintaining 3.5 GPA’s or better. In addition, Roghaar was also named the 2011 Western Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, before the Broncos switched conferences in 2012.
