BOISE, Idaho (5/15/2012) - Boise State University’s head women’s tennis coach Beck Roghaar announced today the addition of Anissa Bryant-Swift (Bellevue, Wash.) to the Bronco roster for the 2012-13 campaign. Bryant-Swift has signed a financial aid agreement with the university. The junior-to-be joins Teal Vosburgh and Megan Lalone, who signed earlier, as the newest members of the Boise State team.
“We are very happy about how the team is looking for next year. Anissa will bring so much to the table for us coming in as a junior,” said Roghaar. “She is hands down one of the most athletic and physical players in the country. Her leadership and dedication to pursue excellence in all she does is going to be such an asset to our program. Anissa has had tremendous success in both singles and doubles throughout her career at Bellevue College and is ready to do some damage for the Broncos next year.”
Bryant-Swift brings with her to Boise State two years of collegiate experience while playing for Bellevue College (junior college) in Bellevue, Wash. She went undefeated in league play during her two years at Bellevue and was undefeated in doubles as a freshman. Her doubles teams have won two-consecutive conference titles including the 2012 title on May 13. After finishing as the runner-up in the No. 1 singles tournament competition in 2011, Bryant-Swift cruised to the title at last weekend’s tournament winning the championship match 6-1, 6-1. Her performances over the last two years helped guide the Bulldogs to their seventh and eighth consecutive team titles. She is also a standout in the classroom where she was just named to the NWAACC’s All-Academic Team.
She is a native of Bellevue, Wash., where she attended Sammamish High School, graduating in 2010. Bryant-Swift’s prep honors include back-to-back Washington 3A State doubles championships in 2009 and 2010. She was named team MVP four straight years at SHS, 2006-10, and was a member of the National Honor Society.
