May 3, 2018

BOISE, IdahoBeck Roghaar has been named Mountain West Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year, it was announced today by the Conference office by a vote of the league’s coaches.

This is Roghaar’s first Mountain West Coach of the Year honor and second Coach of the Year award in his career, after he was named WAC Coach of the Year in 2011.

On the honor, Roghaar said, "I'm truly humbled to receive the Coach of the Year award in our conference. There are so many great programs and coaches in the Mountain West, and I feel very grateful for the opportunity to do what I love and live my passion every day here at Boise State. The success we attained this year, and what we are building is made possible by so many people on our staff, and in our department. Our assistant coaches, Kristian, Nicole and all of our support staff are truly phenomenal and our student-athletes are such an amazing group. It's an honor to work together towards our goals here. I'm proud of what we're building and excited to pursue more in the future.

In 2018 Roghaar led the Broncos to an undefeated conference season (5-0), winning the Mountain Division for the first time in program history. The undefeated conference record is the first for the program in the Mountain West and the first since the 2010 season.

Overall, Roghaar led the team to a 14-8 record this spring, the sixth winning season in his eighth season at the helm of his alma mater.

He coached freshman Wilhelmina Palmer to a 13-5 spring record, and her 4-1 record against conference foes earned her Mountain West Co-Freshman of the Year honors.

Roghaar coached Palmer and sophomore Anja Dokic to All-Mountain West singles honors, as Dokic went undefeated in conference play at the No. 1 or No. 2 spot in the lineup.

Under Roghaar this season the Broncos won 17-of-22 doubles points, with No. 1 duo of Dokic/Wiktoria Nosek earning All-Mountain West Doubles honors.
