Bronco Women's Tennis Earns Trip to NCAA First and Second Rounds in Nashville

BOISE, Idaho The No. 40-ranked Boise State women’s tennis team has earned their second-straight bid to the NCAA post-season tournament, qualifying for the 2008 NCAA First and Second Rounds. The Broncos (20-6) will participate in their fifth NCAA post-season tournament in school history at Vanderbilt University on May 9 and 10 in Nashville, Tenn.

The Western Athletic Conference runner-up, Boise State, enters the first round regional with a No. 3 seed, while host school Vanderbilt holds the No. 1 seed. The University of Kentucky earned the No. 2 seed in the regional while Indiana State will hold the No. 4 seed.

The Vanderbilt Commodores hold the No. 11-ranking nationally and an 18-5 record going into the post-season after placing fourth at the Southeastern Conference Championships two weeks ago.

The Kentucky Wildcats enter the tournament with a 15-9 record on the season while finishing seventh in the tough SEC Championships.

Indiana State enters the regional bracket as the only conference champion, taking the Missouri Valley Conference title. The Sycamores enter the tournament with a 13-6 record on the season.

The Broncos will take on No. 2-seeded Kentucky at 10 a.m. (Central Time) on Friday, May 9. Vanderbilt and Indiana State will play their first round match at 1 p.m. (CT) on Friday, while the winners of each first round match will face-off on Saturday, May 10 at 12 noon (CT).
