Vo and LaLone Earn MW Postseason Honors

April 23, 2014

FRESNO, Calif. - Boise State’s Sandy Vo and Megan LaLone are among those recognized by the Mountain West Conference today for women’s tennis postseason honors. Both Vo and LaLone were named to the all-conference team with Vo receiving recognition in singles and doubles and LaLone earning it in doubles. The announcement came at the annual banquet marking the start of the MW Championship Tournament which is being hosted by Fresno State this week.

This is the second-consecutive year that Sandy Vo has been honored by the conference after receiving all-conference recognition in singles last year. This season the Melbourne, Australia, native received all-conference honors for both singles and doubles. Vo finished the regular season with a solid 19-8 mark in singles including an impressive 14-5 record playing at the No. 1 position in duals this spring. In doubles she teamed up with Megan LaLone down the stretch on court one to go 6-2 overall and 4-2 in MW play. The senior’s overall doubles record heading into this week’s conference championship is 15-9.

Megan LaLone earned her first conference postseason honors in doubles alongside Vo. The two recorded a 6-2 overall duals mark this spring playing at No. 1 singles to close the campaign. The sophomore from Stanwood, Wash., finished the regular season with a 15-12 doubles record on the year with a 11-7 mark in duals this spring. LaLone was also one of the top singles players on the team this spring compiling a 21-11 record, the only Bronco to reach 20 wins so far in 2014.

Vo and LaLone will lead the Broncos into Friday’s quarterfinal round at the 2014 Mountain West Conference Women’s Tennis Championship against Wyoming at 11 a.m. (Mountain) in Fresno.
