Women's Tennis Moves up Two Spots in National Rankings

BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State women's tennis team moved up two spots in the April 20 ITA National Team Rankings after going 3-0 at home last weekend (April 16-17) in a trio of duals against Western Athletic Conference opponents.

            The Broncos jumped to No. 42 in this week's rankings after finishing the regular season with a 20-5 overall record. Boise State has been dominant against WAC opponents this season, compiling an 8-0 record heading into the conference tournament.

            The women are led by senior Pichittra Thongdach, who continues to be ranked nationally in both singles and doubles. This week she is No. 52 in singles after playing to a 16-8 record in duals. She has also teamed up with Lauren Megale to earn a No. 49 doubles ranking. The duo has played to a 20-5 dual record this spring.

            Boise State is off the court this week preparing for the 2010 WAC Championships, which will be held in Fresno, Calif., April 30 - May 2.
