BOISE, Idaho - Beck Roghaar, Boise State's head women's tennis coach, has signed Hanna Kantenwein (Pforzheim, Germany) to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Broncos in 2015-16. Kantenwein has been ranked as high as fifth-nationally as a junior in singles and has played for the German Junior National Team.

"Today is a truly great day for Boise State women's tennis," said Roghaar. "Hanna is an incredible player with a proven record at the highest levels of the game. We are so pleased to welcome her into our program as she not only brings an elite set of skills and experience on the court but also brings incredible character and work ethic as well."

"Hanna has been ranked as high as No. 5 in the juniors in Germany and top 70 in the women's open rankings, which is a very impressive accomplishment for being so young," commented Roghaar. "She's definitely going to make a big impact in our program, and will be successful as a Bronco. Hanna fits perfectly with what our program is all about."

"I chose Boise State because of the positivity of the coaches and the team," said Kantenwein. "I feel I can reach my goals in both academics and in tennis at Boise State. I can't wait to finally be a part of the Bronco family!"

As a junior Kantenwein has competed primarily in Germany and the United States. Her family lived for a while in Florida where she participated in the Junior Orange Bowl, Eddie Herr International Tennis Championship and The Prince Cup.

In addition to playing club tennis for TC Wolfsberg Pforzheim, most of her junior career has been spent competing in national and regional tournaments throughout Germany where she defeated several WTA-ranked players. Kantenwein reached the semifinals of the junior national German Championship in singles and doubles, she also reached the semifinals of a European Junior Tournament in Regensburg, Germany.
