April 3, 2015
Boise State women's tennis hosted five matches in the first two months of the season, playing in front of the best fans in the nation. The Broncos drew 916 fans in January and February, averaging 183 per match to rank No. 3 in the country. The total number of fans was fourth best, according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Attendance Race. "Every time we're at home and we get a big crowd, it's electric," said head coach Beck Roghaar. "It lifts our players up and makes us play better. We're so appreciative of the support of our great fans. Our team understand that it's not like this everywhere. We love our crowds, we love Bronco Nation and there's no place like it." The strong turnout continued through the month of March when the Broncos hosted six more matches, including their outdoor opener at Appleton Tennis Center. The ITA will release updated rankings for the Attendance Race next week, to include March matches. Fans have one more chance to pack the stands and support the Broncos as the Boise State home schedule wraps up April 12, against College of Idaho. The match will begin at noon MT, and a pre-match ceremony will honor seniors Kaitlyn Brown and Sammie Watson. |
