Basil wins sixth consecutive singles match.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Boise State earned a 5-2 win at Colorado State in women's tennis Sunday afternoon in Fort Collins, Colo., claiming its second Mountain West victory of the season. The Broncos won two of the three doubles matches to gain the early momentum in the contest, they are now 8-1 this spring when winning the doubles point. Boise State secured the team victory by recording wins in four of the six singles matches, including Morgan Basil's team-best sixth consecutive win. The victory over Colorado State improved Boise State's record to 8-9 on the year and 2-2 in conference.

"I was proud of the way the team bounced back after yesterday's loss to Wyoming," said head coach Beck Roghaar. "CSU is a solid team and they gave us all we wanted today. It was a tough challenge, we played through some tough conditions and came out with a big win for us."

Doubles opened with a commanding 8-0 shutout victory on court two by Morgan Basil and Sandy Vo over CSU's Lauren Mulhern and Emese Kardhordo.  The Boise State duo now leads the team with a 15-8 overall record and are 12-5 this spring at No. 2 doubles.

Sonia Klamczynska and Kaitlyn Brown battled hard but fell at No. 3 doubles 8-6 to CSU's sister tandem of Veronika Wojakowska and Adriana Wojakowska. The Broncos headed into singles with the doubles point winning two of the three doubles matches.

Basil kept the Boise State momentum rolling with a quick straight set victory on court four downing CSU's Kardhordo 6-3, 6-1, becoming the second Bronco to reach the 20-win plateau this season as she improved to 20-11 on the year.

Boise State claimed a 3-0 advantage in the team scoring when Sandy Vo finished with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles over Mulhern. The sophomore from Melbourne, Australia, is now 18-12 on the year.

The Rams rallied cutting their deficit to two at 3-1 when Adriana Wojakowska defeated Boise State's Kaitlyn Brown on court six 6-0, 7-6 (1). It was not long after that when the Broncos' Sonia Klamczynska clinched the match at No. 1 singles with a impressive 6-1, 6-4 win versus Colorado State's Tori Arneson. The senior is now 16-11 on the year.

CSU's Natalie Heffron recorded the Rams' last point with a hard fought three-set victory (1-6, 6-4, 6-2) over the Broncos' Marlena Pietzuch at No. 2 singles.
