Boise State Women's Tennis to Host Portland State, Utah State in Final Regular Season Matches

COMING UP:
The No. 36-ranked Boise State women’s tennis team will host their final two regular season home matches on Friday, April 4. Their first match, slated for 10 a.m., will be against Portland State while their second match, at 3 p.m., will be against Utah State. Both matches will be at the Appleton Tennis Center. Portland State and Utah State will face off on Saturday at Julia Davis Park at 10 a.m.

ABOUT BOISE STATE:
The Broncos jumped ten spots this week to No. 36 in the ITA rankings. With a nine-match winning streak under their belts, the Broncos look to defend their 7-0 home record for the season. The Broncos have a 15-4 overall record, including a 1-0 Western Athletic Conference record. Although no Broncos are ranked, Stacey Housley will look to continue a seven-match winning streak while the No. 1 doubles team of Pichittra Thongdach and Polina Kokoulina will look to continue their 15-match winning streak.

BRONCOS’ LAST TIME OUT:
Boise State completed a spring break road trip where they went 3-0, defeating Cal State Northridge, UC Santa Barbara, and No. 60 UC Irvine all in 5-2 matches. The Broncos played CSUN on March 23, UCSB on March 26, and UCI on March 28.

ABOUT THE PORTLAND STATE VIKINGS :
Portland State enters the weekend with a 5-13 record on the season. They hold a 2-4 record in the Big Sky Conference. Their most recent matches ended in a 5-2 loss to Portland on March 29 and a 6-1 loss to Santa Clara on March 26. Their most recent victory came at Colorado Christian University where they earned a 6-1 win.

ABOUT THE UTAH STATE AGGIES:
Utah State enters the weekend with a 2-7 record on the season and a 0-3 record in WAC play. The Aggies most recent matches have ended in wins, including a 7-0 victory over Dixie State on March 27. They also earned a 4-3 win over Portland State on March 9. Those two wins ended the seven-match losing streak they had since January 18.
