No. 43 Boise State Women's Tennis Set to Compete at Shocker Classic

COMING UP:
The No. 43 Boise State Broncos head to Wichita, Kansas to play in the Shocker Classic hosted by Wichita State University. The Broncos will face the University of Arkansas Little Rock on Saturday, March 15 at 11 a.m. and will follow with a dual match on Sunday, March 16 at 10 a.m. against No. 69 Wichita State at the WSU Coleman Tennis Complex.

ABOUT BOISE STATE:
The Broncos jumped 16 spots this week to the No. 43 spot after a solid weekend of competition at home. The Broncos’ Polina Kokoulina and Pichittra Thongdach rank No. 58 in the ITA doubles rankings that were released March 4. The Broncos have a 9-4 record over the spring season, but will face a tough challenge at the Shocker Classic of trying to pick up their first away win of the season. Boise State is 0-4 in away matches and 2-0 on neutral courts this spring season.

BRONCOS’ LAST TIME OUT:
The Broncos played host to the University of San Diego and No. 35 Saint Mary’s College of California this past weekend. They finished 2-0 on the weekend, extending their home record to a perfect 7-0. The Broncos topped the Toreros of USD, 5-2, on Friday, March 7 before coming back to top the Gaels of SMC, 4-3, on Sunday morning.

ABOUT ARKANSAS LITTLE ROCK:
The University of Arkansas Little Rock Trojans enter the weekend with a 7-0 victory over Louisiana Tech on March 2 at home. The Trojans are not ranked in the ITA national rankings, but enter the weekend with a 10-5 record this spring.

ABOUT WICHITA STATE:
The Wichita State University Shockers dropped 15 spots in the national rankings this week, now holding the No. 69 spot in the rankings. The Shockers have had a very short season thus far, posting a 3-3 record on the season. WSU will play host this weekend to Boise State, Arkansas Little Rock and North Florida from March 14-16.
