Thongdach Named Verizon Wireless WAC Player of the Week

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State senior Pichittra Thongdach earned her first individual honor of the 2010 tennis season, Wednesday (March 10), as she was named the Verizon Wireless Western Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for March 1-7.

This marks the first time that any Boise State women's tennis player has been named player of the week so far this season. Thongdach received the honor after leading No. 57 Boise State to a 5-2 upset over No. 41 Utah last Sunday. Thongdach earned wins in both singles and doubles, playing at No. 1 for the Broncos.

Thanks to Thongdach's efforts, Boise State is currently on a four dual winning streak. This spring she boasts a 7-4 singles record and 8-3 doubles record in dual matches. The Broncos are in the middle of a six dual home stretch, which will continue on Saturday (March 13) against Brigham Young University. The BYU dual will be played at the Appleton Tennis Center at 12 p.m., weather permitting.
