Women's Tennis Hosts Utah, Montana
BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State women's tennis team (5-3) will look to rebound from two losses last weekend when it plays host to regional opponents No. 33 Utah and Montana. The Broncos will look to upset the Utes, Saturday, March 3 at noon and will face the Grizzlies, Sunday, March 4 at 10 a.m. The matches were originally scheduled to be played at the Boas Tennis Center, but will be played at the Appleton Tennis Center, weather permitting.

What Happened Last Time - The Broncos are coming off a weekend in which they faced two top-30 teams in Malibu, Calif. Boise State fell to No. 30 Pepperdine, 7-0 before a 6-1 defeat at the hands of No. 21 Arizona State.

Looking at No. 33 Utah - Utah moved up to its No. 33 ranking after  it notched back-to-back upsets this past weekend in Las Vegas, Nev., defeating 36th-ranked UNLV 4-3, before besting 32nd-ranked Texas Tech 4-3. The Utes currently hold a 6-3 record and are led by No. 62 Anastasia Putilina who is 7-0 at the team's top spot. While the team has thrived in singles play with 36-14, it has faltered in doubles action, going 14-13.

Looking at Montana - This match will mark the 11th road match in a row for Montana which is currently 6-4 this season. Both Montana and Boise State share wins over Idaho and Seattle. Montana defeated Idaho in a close match 4-3 while Boise State won by a similar score of 5-2. Against Seattle it was the opposite, both teams still came out with victories but Montana won 5-2 while Boise State edged it out 4-3. Ashley Mackey leads the team with eight wins and has played at the Nos. 3-5 spots.

Best in the West - Boise State's Marlena Pietzuch was named Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 7-14 after going a combined 4-0 last weekend to help propel Boise State to home victories over Eastern Washington (W, 7-0) and Idaho (W, 5-2), respectively. Pietzuch made her debut at the No. 1 spot against Idaho, defeating Victoria Lozano in straight sets.

Grub and Greet - The Boise State men's and women's tennis teams will be hosting a "Grub and Greet" event where fans and boosters will have the opportunity to have the opportunity to dine with both teams in the Stueckle Sky Center. 2012 Team - The Boise State women's tennis team is coming off a 17-8 season and a 5-1 record in the WAC. The Broncos advanced to the conference finals but fell 4-3 to Fresno State. Lone senior Sonia Klamczynska returns to lead a young Bronco team that includes one freshman and two sophomores. Manuela Pietzuch joins the Boise State roster after transferring from Virginia Commonwealth and joins her sister Marlena.
