Jasper Named Verizon WAC Player of the Week

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State senior Stephanie Jasper was been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, Tuesday (Feb. 22), following her outstanding performance for Feb. 14-20.

This marks the first ever WAC Player of the Week honor for Jasper and the second this season for Boise State. Lauren Megale earned the award for Jan. 17-23.

Jasper, a Bozeman, Mont. (Montana State) native, helped the Broncos earn a pair of victories in Pullman, Wash. this past weekend (Feb. 19-20) with a 2-0 record in both singles and doubles. Boise State opened its road trip with a 5-2 win over No. 74 Washington State. The Broncos concluded the weekend with a 6-1 win over WAC rival Idaho.

Boise State returns home this week to host their first duals of the 2011 season as the Broncos are set to face Arizona and Saint Mary's at the BOAS Indoor Tennis Complex. Boise State will meet the Wildcats at 1:30 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 25) before squaring off against the Gaels at 10 a.m. on Sunday (Feb. 27).
