Marlena Pietzuch Named Player of the Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Boise State's Marlena Pietzuch was named Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 7-14, the conference announced, Wednesday.

Pietzuch, a product of Hechingen, Germany, went a combined 4-0 last weekend to help propel Boise State to home victories over Eastern Washington (W, 7-0) and Idaho (W, 5-2), respectively. Pietzuch began Friday's dual match against Eastern Washington by teaming with her sister, Manuela Pietzuch, to knock off the tandem of Moria Hedberg and Chrissy Uriarte, 8-1. The junior went on to post a victory in singles action, notching a 6-2, 6-2 win over Chelsea Patton at the No. 2 position. Against rival Idaho, Pietzuch played at the No. 1 singles position for the first time this season, netting a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Victoria Lozano. Earlier in the match, Pietzuch and her sister, Manuela, downed the pair of Lozano and Beatriz Florez, 8-4.

The Broncos will next face Pepperdine and Arizona State in Malibu, Calif., Feb. 24-25.
