Broncos Sweep Eastern Washington
BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State women's tennis team (4-1) took down Eastern Washington in a 7-0 sweep at the Boas Tennis Center, Friday.

The Broncos started off strong, winning all three of the doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead. The Boise State teams of Pietzuch/Pietzuch and Vo/Basil each took their matches with ease, giving up only one game apiece. The tandem of Brown/Klamczynska picked up the final doubles win, defeating their opponent, 8-5.

In singles action, Marlena Pietzuch was looking to keep a four-game winning streak alive at the Broncos' No. 2 spot. The junior won in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 staying undefeated for the spring season (5-0).

Fellow junior Fiona Mok made her Bronco debut at the No. 6 position and won a closely contested battle against Eastern Washington's Nefeli Diamanti. Mok won the first set, 7-6, claiming the tiebreaker set 7-3. The second set went to tiebreakers as well and ended with the same result, a Bronco win, this time by a score of 7-5.

Sandy Vo and Morgan Basil each moved to 4-1 this spring after picking up individual wins at the Nos. 4 and 5 positions. Vo defeated Chrissy Uriarte 6-0, 6-0 while Basil beat Ryann Warner 6-1, 6-1.

Sonia Klamczynska and Manuela Pietzuch also picked up wins for Boise State in straight sets.

The women's team will be back in action against Idaho, Saturday. The match is scheduled for a 10 a.m. start at the Boas Tennis Center.
