Boise State Defeats No. 75 Nevada

BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State University women’s tennis team collected two victories in the Boise State Invitational to improve its season record to 5-0.

In the morning match the Broncos defeated the Montana Grizzlies 7-0. The evening match saw No. 64 Boise State face off against No. 75 Nevada and win the match 6-1.

The two teams battled for the doubles point but Broncos prevailed. Polina Kokoulina and Klaudia Wlodarcyzk defeated Ly-Hong Dinh and Laetita Tan 8-5. Tiffany Coll and Bianca Jochimsen then followed with a 8-4 victory over Fiorella Velez and Audrey Bardot. Jana Mackova and Laura Baum dropped to 15-2 with their loss to the No. 39 doubles team of Maria Mizyuk and Caroline Bailly.

In singles, Wlodarcyzk improved to 5-0 with Boise State with her 6-1, 6-2 victory over Tan. Coll then beat Bardot 6-2 and 6-1. Kokoulina collected the clinching match point with a 6-1, 7-5 defeat of Bailly.

Mackova then earned the win over Dinh by the score of 6-3 and 6-3. The final victory of the match for the Broncos was collected by Housley over Pham 6-4 and 7-5.

Jochimsen dropped her match to Mizyuk 6-3 and 6-1.

Boise State will next match up with Wichita State on Sunday, Feb. 11, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
