BOISE, Idaho - Boise State women's tennis player Lauren Megale received her first regular season honor of 2011, Tuesday (Jan. 25), as she has been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for Jan. 17-23. Megale, a senior from Boise, Idaho (Arizona State), went 2-0 in both No. 1 singles and doubles this past weekend to help lead the No. 38 ranked Broncos to wins over Denver (5-2) and No. 71 Colorado (6-1). Megale improves to 9-5 in singles and 8-3 in doubles dating back to last fall. This marks the fourth WAC Player of the Week honor for Megale, who won it twice as a sophomore and once as a junior. This past fall she was also named WAC Player of the Month for October. Boise State is on the road again this week with a trip to Evanston, Ill. for the 2011 ITA Kick-Off. The Broncos are set to meet Nebraska, Saturday (Jan. 29), at 2 p.m. Depending on the outcome of Saturday's dual, Boise State will then play the winner or loser of Harvard and Northwestern on Sunday. |
