Boise State Women's Tennis No. 34 in Campbell/ITA Rankings

BOISE, Idaho - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the first Campbell/ITA National Team Rankings of 2010 this week, which featured the Boise State women's tennis team being voted in at No. 34 to start the indoor season.

The Broncos earned the No. 34 ranking following a trip to the 2009 NCAA tournament, where Boise State advanced to the second round. The Broncos also fell just short of capturing last season's Western Athletic Conference Championship, falling to Fresno State 4-3 in the title round. Duke was voted No. 1 in the first women's national team rankings of the year.

Boise State also appeared in the individual rankings in both singles and doubles, as the Broncos were led by Pichittra Thongdach who was voted No. 43 in singles. Thongdach, a senior from Petchaburi, Thailand (University of Thailand), finished the fall with a 12-5 record en route to winning the ITA Mountain Region singles championship.

Thongdach also teamed up with Lauren Megale to win the ITA Mountain Region doubles title, and finish the fall with a 9-4 doubles record. Thongdach and Megale open the spring ranked No. 24 nationally in doubles.

The Broncos kick-off their indoor schedule on Jan. 23 (Saturday) when they travel to Bozeman, Mont. for a pair of duals against the University of Montana and Montana State.
