Poling’s Run Ends at Regionals

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Lilian Poling was eliminated from the consolation draw to end Boise State’s run at the 2016 ITA Mountain Regional Championships in Albuquerque, N.M.

Poling lost in straight sets against New Mexico’s Cassie Chung in the singles consolation draw round of 16. Chung prevailed 6-4, 6-1. Poling, along with teammate Nancy Menjivar, had eliminated Chung and her partner Diana Wong in doubles play earlier this week.

The team portion of Boise State’s fall schedule has come to an end. If any Broncos are selected to the ITA National Indoor Championships, the tournament will take place Nov. 3-6, in Flushing Meadows, N.Y. If not, women’s tennis will pick up again in the spring. The first duel is scheduled for Jan. 27, against Eastern Washington.
