Dokic and Poling Win at the All-American

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. (10/1/2017) - Anja Dokic and Lilian Poling wrapped up their participation at the Riviera ITA All-American Championships with a doubles victory over Rice’s Lindsey Hodge and Michaela Haet in a tightly contested match winning in a tiebreaker 8-7(1). It was a big win for the sophomore team versus a quality opponent as the Bronco duo finished 1-1 this weekend.

The freshmen pair of Vanessa Timm and Wilhelmina Palmer faced a team from Louisiana Monroe. The Boise State tandem came up short against ULM’s Stefana Andrei and Karolina Snita falling 8-3.

SPOKANE, Wash. (10/1/2017) - Boise State’s Wiktoria Nosek and Jovana Kuljanin concluded the Gonzaga Bulldog Invitational on Sunday with both falling in singles matches and in their doubles contest.

Nosek advanced to the blue flight singles title match where she faced Gonzaga’s Ashleigh Jacobs. The two battled into a third set after Nosek had rallied from one set down to win the second, unfortunately she fell in the end 6-2, 5-7, 6-1 to Jacobs.

Kuljanin reached the consolation title match of the white flight against Eastern Washington’s Rachel Swindell. Kuljanin won the opening set 6-3, before falling in a 10-point tiebreaker in the third as Swindell came back to win the match 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8)

In doubles the two played a consolation contest versus Idaho’s duo of Laura Spataro and Maria Tavares. The Vandal tandem defeated Nosek and Kuljanin 6-2 to conclude the tournament.
