WEST POINT, N.Y. - A doubles title and two singles finalists highlighted the weekend for Boise State women's tennis at the West Point Invitational hosted by Army. Hanna Kantenwein and Milena Toseva rolled through the top doubles flight to claim the first tournament title for a Bronco this fall.

Toseva and freshman Lilian Poling both advanced to the championship match of the B singles bracket. The match was not played due to time constraints, but Toseva and Poling are expected to play this week at home to determine a winner.

Toseva knocked off two top-three seeds on her way to the title match, including an impressive come-from-behind 4-6, 7-5, 10-6 victory in the semifinals. Poling, the No. 1 seed in the bracket, cruised in straight sets to the final.

Kantenwein advanced to the semifinals of the top singles flight. She won her first two matches in straight sets before succumbing to a marathon tiebreaker in the semifinal match to lose 6-3, 7-5 (15-13).

Nancy Menjivar saw her run in the top singles draw come to an end at the quarterfinal round. Menjivar was the No. 7 seed in the bracket and took a pair of straight-set wins into the quarters before falling to No. 2 seed Sibel Can of Lehigh.

Kirsty Venter joined Quinnipiac's Amy Zammarieh in the 'B' doubles draw and advanced to the quarterfinals. Venter and Zammarieh fell to the fourth-seeded duo in the draw, 7-5, but were the most successful doubles pair made up of student-athletes from two different schools.

The Broncos will return to action at the ITA Mountain Region Championships Oct. 12-16, in Albuquerque, N.M.
