BOISE, Idaho (9/25/2015) - Boise State women’s tennis was dominating on Friday during the opening day of the Jack Taylor Classic going a combined 14-1 in doubles and singles. All eight Broncos advanced to the singles quarterfinals with seven reaching Saturday’s semifinals in their respective flights. Arianna Paules Aldrey, Bobbi Oshiro, Naomi de Hart and Milena Toseva all went 2-0 in singles Friday, while Megan LaLone, Teal Vosburgh and Nancy Menjivar won their lone matches following first round byes.

“One loss on the day is a good start to the tournament,” said head coach Beck Roghaar. “We obviously played very well today. We set some goals for ourselves at every tournament we play, for the JTC we wanted to come out hard and play well at home. We want to continue to improve on things we have been focusing on in practice. I think today we did a really good job of accomplishing some of those goals.”

“Looking forward at tomorrow, we are presented with a new set of challenges which will make things interesting,” Roghaar said. “We will basically be playing ourselves in most of the matches and it is not always easy playing a teammate, but you still have to go out and play hard.”

Saturday’s competition will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the second round of doubles followed by one round of singles, then conclude with the third round of doubles. All of the action is at the Appleton Tennis Center on the Boise State campus. The finals will take place on Sunday morning.
