MILWAUKEE - Boise State women’s tennis posted a strong singles effort Friday, on the first day of the Milwaukee Tennis Classic. Three of the four Broncos in action secured victories in singles competition against tournament-host Marquette. Nancy Menjivar rallied from a set down and battled through a tense third set to record a 3-6, 6-1, 7-6 win. Lilian Poling and Kirsty Venter each won in straight sets. Poling navigated a nail biter to pull out a 7-5, 7-6 win. Venter played her way to a 6-3, 6-4 victory. Earlier in the day, the Broncos dropped a pair of doubles matches against Ball State duos. Toseva and Poling played together, while Menjivar and Venter formed the other tandem. Play continues Saturday with doubles against Marquette at 1 p.m. CT, followed immediately by singles against Wisconsin.
