BOZEMAN, Mont. - Boise State women’s tennis finished nonconference play with an exclamation point Saturday, sweeping Montana State 7-0 in Bozeman, Mont. The Broncos (8-8) dominated from start to finish, winning all six singles matches in straight sets.

“We took a huge step forward today in terms of putting some things together as a team that are going to be vital for us heading into conference play,” said head coach Beck Roghaar. “I was really proud of the team for stepping up to that challenge and to the additional challenges that this match presented.”

The match started with Boise State taking the first two doubles matches to finish at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. Montana State (6-13) picked up its lone victory at No. 1 doubles after the point had been clinched.

Nancy Menjivar ran her win streak to four matches in singles, finishing first with a 6-2, 6-0 win on court six. Menjivar was followed immediately by Teal Vosburgh on court three. Vosburgh cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win on her way to earning the Bronco Bandana.

Freshman Hanna Kantenwein improved to 6-3 at No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 6-2 win against Laura Middel. Bobbi Oshiro (No. 2 singles) and Megan LaLone (No. 4 singles) both picked up wins to improve their team-best records to 9-6 in the spring season. Arianna Paules Aldrey rounded out the singles lineup with a 6-2, 6-3 win on court five.

“I’m really happy to see us perform like this at this point in the season,” Roghaar said. “We are getting ready to make our run at the championship.”
