Feb. 16, 2018

POCATELLO, Idaho – The Boise State women’s tennis team defeated Idaho State, 6-1, on the road to start a two-match road swing this weekend.

The Broncos (3-3) were strong throughout, taking the doubles point and then winning all but one singles match. Sophomore Anja Dokic won at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-3 and led her No. 1 doubles duo, Dokic/Nosek to a 7-6 (4) victory over Idaho State.

On the match, head coach Beck Roghaar said, “We answered the call today and answered more questions about ourselves as a team today. We came out and performed at every spot up and down the lineup today from start to finish.”

The Broncos battled to get the doubles point, as both No. 1 doubles and No. 3 doubles were close matches, 7-6 (4) and 7-5, respectively.

After winning the doubles point, the Broncos jumped out and attacked on singles, firing on all cylinders, and in three sets throughout the lineup the Broncos did not allow a point to the Bengals.

“We feel great about the momentum we have heading into Sunday’s match at Utah and are excited to get after another Pac-12 opponent,” explained head coach Beck Roghaar.

The Broncos visit Utah on Sunday, Feb. 18 at 11 a.m. MT.
