Cortney Named Diver of the Week

Dec. 11, 2013

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--The Mountain West Conference announced Boise State’s senior diver Ciera Cortney as its Diver of the Week, for competition from Nov. 25-Dec. 9, 2013. This is Cortney’s fourth weekly accolade and fourth of her career.

Cortney competed on the one meter, three meter and platform events at the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa last weekend. She finished third in the three-meter springboard, recording a score of 321.25. That mark is the second highest in Boise State history, only behind her record of 324.15.

In a field of tough competition, she marked a 252.30 in the one meter and 229.65 on platform. Her fifth-place platform mark qualifies her for NCAA Zones in March. Cortney finished with three top-six finishes at the invitational.

The Broncos will train for a week in San Diego for their annual holiday training trip, and then prepare for a meet at UC San Diego on Jan. 4, 2013. Along with Boise State, the meet will feature UCSD, San Diego State and Grand Canyon.
