Chard Signs With Boise State

BOISE, Idaho- Boise State swimming and diving Head Coach Kristin Hill announced Wednesday, Emma Chard of Tacoma, Wash., signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Broncos. Chard, currently a senior at Henry Foss High School, specializes in freestyle and breaststroke events.

As a swimmer at Henry Foss High School under the direction of Matt Wood, Chard set the 3A meet record in the 100-freestyle in 2012. She finished second in the 100-breaststroke and third in the 100-free at state in 2012. Chard set the meet record at Foss Falcon Relays meet in the 50-breaststroke, 200-IM and 100-free. She is the 2013 co-captain for Henry Foss.

Chard is a member of the honor society at Henry Foss, as well as the Agnes Foss community service group, the secretary for the Sustainable Design club and is a two-time secretary for the Orchestra club.

"I chose Boise State University because as soon as I landed in Boise I knew it was the place for me," Chard said. "The team was so welcoming and the coaching staff is great. I believe the coaches can take me far in my swimming career and help me achieve my goals."
