BOISE, Idaho – Boise State swimming and diving head coach Kristin Hill announced Wednesday, Amelia Draney of St. George, Utah, signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Broncos. Draney, currently a senior at Desert Hills High School, specializes in freestyle events.


Amelia Draney is an All American at Desert Hills High School in St. George, Utah. There, Draney holds six individual region records and two state records at the high school level. She has five individual state championships and is a state two-time MVP. She is the long course state champion in the 400 and 800 freestyle and won high point for 15 and over. Draney is the current captain of her club team, SUSA Stingrays, under the direction of Coach Dani Caldwell.

In the classroom, Draney is an academic All American and a member of the National Honor Society. She also works with disabled children in her hometown.

“I chose Boise State University because of the team environment,” said Draney. “The girls were amazing and the coaching staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed. I believe in the program that Coach Hill is building and I want to be a part of this legacy. I know Boise State is the right school for me.”
