BOISE, Idaho-Boise State swimming and diving Head Coach Kristin Hill announced, Thursday, Jordan Marthens of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Broncos. Marthens is currently a senior diver at Trabuco Hills High School.

"With limited diving experience, Jordan continues to excel in the water," said Boise State diving coach Allison Brennan. "Her ability to learn and develop harder dives in such a short amount of time says a lot about her work ethic and determination. I see a lot of potential in her and I know she will be a great asset to the diving team."

Marthens is coached by Sharon Krogman at Trabuco Hills, where she has qualified for the CIF Southern Section Division I Championships each of the past two seasons. As a junior in 2012, she advanced to the finals at the sectional meet, placing 14th.

On the club circuit, Marthens competes for Mission Viejo Nadadores under coaches Mile Hilde, Derek Starks and Janet Ely. She has competed at numerous regional and national championships, including the 2011 AAU National Championships as well as the 2011 and 2012 USA Diving Summer Junior Zone Championships.

"After visiting the school and meeting the team and coaches I knew Boise State was where I wanted to be a collegiate athlete," Marthens said. "The atmosphere of the team as a whole was so positive and welcoming I felt as if I was already part of the team. I was looking for a place where the team and coaches really connected with one another and I found that at Boise State."
