Chard and Kleinsorgen Clock Career Bests

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Boise State’s Emma Chard and Ally Kleinsorgen were back in action on Friday morning recording career-best times at the Phillips 66 National Swimming Championships in Indianapolis.

Chard, a senior-to-be, swam a 4:18.26 in the 400-meter freestyle placing fourth in her heat and finishing 40th out of 70 participants. The native of Tacoma, Wash., shaved a second off her previous best time set two weeks ago. Chard will close her trip to nationals out on Saturday when she competes in her fourth event, the 1,500-meter freestyle.

Kleinsorgen, a junior-to-be, closed out her first experience at the national championships by swimming a personal-best 1:03.47 in the 100-meter backstroke this morning, cutting five seconds from her previous top time in the event. She finished fourth in her heat and placed 67th out of 110 competitors.
