Heaney and Domanowski Swim 200 Fly at Olympic Trials

OMAHA, Neb.- Boise State rising junior Rachel Heaney took eighth in her heat of the 200-meter butterfly in 2:19.47 to place 107th overall at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials Thursday in Omaha, Neb.

Jennifer Domanowski, who signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Boise State in the fall, was disqualified from the 200 butterfly. Domanowski, a native of Arlington, Wash., clocked an unofficial 2:21.34.

The 200 butterfly wrapped up the competitive schedules for Domanowski and Heaney at the trials. Former Bronco Stephanie North and rising junior Chelsea Miller make their Olympic Trials debuts Friday in the 100-meter freestyle and 200-meter breaststroke, respectively. Amber Boucher will join North in the freestyle race for her second event of the meet.

Below is the remaining schedule of events for swimmers with Boise State ties. Prelims will begin at 10 a.m. (CT) each day. The evening sessions will start at 7 p.m. (CT). Video of every event will be available online or on television. All but the fastest heats of prelims can be seen live at usaswimming.org. The fastest two to four heats of prelims (depending on the event) will be aired on tape delay by NBC Sports. The evening sessions will be broadcast live on NBC in the Eastern and Central time zones and delayed in the Mountain  (7 p.m.) and Pacific (8 p.m.) time zones.

In races 200 meters and shorter, the top 16 swimmers from preliminaries advance to the semifinals.
