June 27, 2017

Indianapolis, Ind. - Boise State senior-to-be Emma Chard recorded a career-best 8:52:30 in the 800 free at the Phillips 66 National Championships Tuesday afternoon in Indianapolis. Chard shaved seven seconds off her previous career-high that she set on June 11th at the Summer Sanders Meet in Roseville, Calif.

Chard competed in the second heat of five Tuesday afternoon but fell short of qualifying for tonight’s finals at the Indiana University Natatorium.

The Tacoma, Wash., native has three more events ahead of her at the national championships and will be back in action Wednesday morning competing in the 200 free at 7 a.m. (Mountain).

Joining her in action on Wednesday is fellow Bronco Emily Mathis (Santa Maria, Calif.) who will compete in the 200 breaststroke at 8 a.m. (Mountain).

Ally Kleinsorgen (Succasunna, N.J.) is the final of three Boise State student-athletes competing at nationals, she will open competition on Thursday with the 50 backstroke at 9:43 a.m. (Mountain).
