Boise State Has 11 Honored By CSCAA

    BOISE, Idaho – Boise State swimming and diving had a Mountain West-best 11 student-athletes named Scholar All-Americans by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America Wednesday.

    Four Broncos, seniors Blake Balogh and Sam Wicks and juniors Brittany Aoyama and Katelyn Martin, were named to the first team, while divers Cassidy Bose, Kiley Carlson, Karli Kriewall and Kacee Olson along with swimmers Ally Kleinsorgen, Abbey Sorensen and Laura Williams were named honorable mention.

    Wicks was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Women's At-Large Third Team earlier this month, while Aoyama was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 Women's At-Large Team along with Wicks in May. Balogh was announced Tuesday as Boise State's nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year award.

    A total of 853 swimmers and divers from throughout the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA levels that achieved a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher and competed at their respective organization’s swimming and diving championships were selected as Scholar All-Americans while another 894 from all levels were named honorable mention. Honorable mention selections also achieved a GPA of 3.50 in addition to reaching a “B” time standard or have competed at a regional or zone qualifying meet.

    Boise State swimming and diving was also honored June 15 by the CSCAA as a Scholar All-America Team, with its team GPA of 3.60 tied for 11th-best among Division I schools.
