Six Broncos Head to NCAA Championships
Brittany Aoyama is the first Bronco freshman to qualify for nationals individually.

BOISE, Idaho –Brittany Aoyama, Sam Wicks, Heather Harper, Sydney Johansen, Jessica Bottelberghe and Katelyn Martin will compete at the 2014 NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships, held this week in Minneapolis, Minn. The meet will be held Thursday-Saturday, March 20-22 at the University Aquatic Center at the University of Minnesota. ESPNU will televise the action March 21 and 22, at 5 p.m. (MT). Aoyama ranks 19th in the nation and qualified to compete in the 100-yard butterfly. Wicks also qualified individually, and ranks 36th in the 100-yard backstroke. Both swimmers have been invited to compete in the 50- and 100-freestyle events, having met B qualifying standards earlier in the season.

Boise State qualified its 200-yard medley relay (1:37.75) at the Mountain West Championships. That relay, of Aoyama, Wicks, Bottelberghe and Martin will look to better that time on the national stage.

The Broncos best finish at NCAA Championships was 39th, which they reached in 2011.
