Broncos Finish Second Day at Nationals

AUBURN, Ala.- Boise State completed the second day of competition at the 2012 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships Friday, with all four Broncos in action. Amber Boucher led the way with a 22nd-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly.

Boucher clocked a 53.00 in prelims, the No. 7 time in school history. Stevie Hughey took 54th in the event with a 55.01.

Stephanie North placed 40th in prelims of the 200-yard freestyle with a 1:47.38, moving up from her seed of 42 entering the meet. Sydney Johansen rounded out the Broncos' day as she placed 46th in the 100-yard breaststroke. Johansen swam a 1:03.37.

The championships conclude Saturday, and Boise State will be represented by Boucher and North in the 100-yard freestyle, while Johansen will swim the 200-yard backstroke. The Broncos enter the final day of the championships in 40th place with two points from the 200-yard freestyle relay.
