BOISE, Idaho - Boise State swimmers will compete in nine events at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships this Wednesday-Saturday at Georgia Tech's McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta.

Boise State qualified four relays for the meet: the 200, 400 and 800 free relays along with the 200 medley relay. Swimmer Sam Wicks (100 back, 200 IM), Emma Chard (200 free, 500 free) and Brittany Aoyama (100 fly) also qualified for individual events.

The Broncos will be in action right at the start of the meet, as the championships open Wednesday at 4 p.m. MT with the 800 free relay final.

With the exception of Friday and Saturday night's finals, all races will be available to watch live online at http://atlantaswimming.com/Webcast. ESPN3 will air Friday and Saturday night's finals live online.

Preliminary races Thursday-Saturday begin at 8 a.m. MT, with finals each of the four nights scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. MT.

All three Bronco freestyle relays qualified in the national top 14 after hitting NCAA A cuts (automatic qualification) at the Mountain West Championships in February. All three relays captured their respective conference title and set new Boise State recods. The 200 free relay of Aoyama, Wicks, Katelyn Martin and Abbey Sorensen posted a time of 1:28.93 (13th), the 400 free relay of Aoyama, Wicks, Chard and Martin own a seed time of 3:15.38 (14th) and the 800 free relay of Aoyama, Chard, Felicity Cann and Blake Balogh qualified 14th in 7:04.60.

The 200 medley relay also qualified for the championships with a time of 1:37.63. While not an NCAA A cut, it was one of the top "B" cuts in the country and warranted inclusion in the field.

For the individual events, Wicks qualified 21st in the 100 back (52.03) and 30th in the 200 IM (1:57.18). Chard qualified 20th in the 500 free (4:40.21) and 25th in the 200 free (1:45.11), while Aoyama qualified 38th in the 100 fly (52.74).

Wicks and Chard will be in action individually Thursday and Friday, with Wicks competing in the 200 IM then the 100 back, and Chard swimming the 500 free Thursday and 200 free Friday. Aoyama will compete in the 100 fly Friday. The 200 free relay will compete Thursday, the 200 medley relay Friday and the 400 free relay Saturday.

At the championships, the top 16 places in each event score. Individual scoring format is 20-17-16-15-14-13-12-11-9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1, while the relay scoring format is 40-34-32-30-28-26-24-22-18-14-12-10-8-6-4-2. Boise State has scored at the NCAA Championships twice (2011, 2012). In 2011, the Broncos scored five points on Amber Boucher's 12th-place finish in the 100 fly, while in 2012 the Broncos scored two points on a 16th-place finish in the 200 free relay.
