COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-Amanda Burnett and Ciera Cortney closed the Boise State diving season on a high note at the NCAA Zone E Championships Thursday through Saturday, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Burnett scored the highest finish of the meet Saturday, in the platform competition when she placed ninth. She scored 224.25 in prelims and 227.05 in the finals for a combined score of 451.30. She also made it to finals on three-meter, Friday, after a 279 in prelims. The senior scored a 278.75 in finals to finish 14th at 557.75.
Cortney took 10th in the one-meter event Thursday, on the first day of competition. She was 10th after prelims with a 260.20 and held her position with a 261.70 in finals for a 521.90.
Burnett did not advance to finals on one-meter, missing it by less than a point with a 19th-place finish in prelims. Cortney finished 24th and 25th on platform and three-meter, respectively.
Burnett and Cortney were not among the eight divers selected to advance from Zone E to the NCAA Championships.
