About the Broncos: Head coach Kristin Hill enters the 2013-14 season with a strong senior class of five, including 2013 Mountain West champion Rachel Heaney (200-yard butterfly). Heaney also competed at the 2013 NCAA Championships in the 200 butterfly. The Broncos took second (575) at last year's championships. San Diego State won the championship, scoring 734 for the victory.

Predicted Favorites:The Mountain West head women's swimming and diving coaches selected Boise State as the favorite to win the 2014 conference title. The Broncos edged out defending champion San Diego State by three points. Boise State garnered six first-place votes and 78 total points, and San Diego State was selected to finish second with four first-place votes and 75 total points.

Leaders of the Pack: Boise State holds four individual top times in the Mountain West Conference. Freshman Felicity Cann holds the top time in the 200-yard freestyle (1:48.42). Junior Heather Harper claims the top spot in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:14.46). Fellow junior Sydney Johansen holds the top time in the conference in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.61). Senior and reigning 200-yard butterfly champion Rachel Heaney holds the top time in the conference (1:58.74). Heaney has the only NCAA `B' cut time in the conference to date. The Broncos hold the fastest times in the conference in four of the five relays, including the 200 freestyle relay, 800 freestyle relay, 200 medley relay and the 400 medley relay.

Last Time Out: The Broncos downed the Oregon State Beavers on their last home meet of the season, 169-87. The Broncos set a Boise West YMCA pool record (3:46.84) in the 400-yard medley relay, consisting of Devin Madsen, Heather Harper, Brittany Aoyama and Mandie Siehs. Senior swimmer Brooke Balogh took two individual victories for the day, claiming the top spot in the 200-yard butterfly (2:03.25) and the 400-yard individual medley (4:26.64).

Athletes of the Week: Boise State swimmers and divers have garnered a Bronco record eleven weekly awards this season. Freshman swimmer Felicity Cann won the first weekly award of the season. Senior diver Ciera Cortney has won a Bronco record five weekly awards this season, after setting a Boise State record in the three-meter springboard. Brittany Aoyama has won the latest weekly award for her efforts against Oregon State. Aoyama won three individual events, including the 100 butterfly, 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle. She has won three weekly accolades in her rookie season.

At the Summit: Boise State ranks first in five individual events in the Mountain West (200 free, 1000 free, 100 breast, 200 breast, 200 fly). The Broncos hold the top times in three relay events (200 free, 800 free, 200 medley). The orange and blue hold the second-fastest time in the 400 free relay, three-tenths of a second behind SDSU.

Last Time Out at Conference: The Broncos finished in second to eventual champions San Diego State. Rachel Heaney won an individual title for the Broncos in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing in 1:57.40. Stevie Hughey and Sydney Johansen each earned second-place points in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke, respectively.

Success in the Classroom: The Broncos set a team record for semester GPA in the Fall of 2013. Five Broncos recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA, including Brooke Balogh, Heather Harper, Stevie Hughey, Devin Madsen and Sam Wicks.
