Broncos Look To Flex WAC Muscle During Third Annual Big Splash
What's Happening: The Boise State swimming and diving team will wrap up the 2009-10 dual season on Saturday with a WAC dual against New Mexico State at the Boise-West YMCA. The Broncos will be going for their third straight dual win and sixth straight WAC dual win. The win would put a cap on the Broncos best season in program history and keep up the momentum they have built all season long going into the WAC Championships.

Senior Day: As this will be the final home meet of the season. The Broncos will take the time to celebrate three seniors before the start of the meet. Lauren Keele, Chelsea Lopus and Katelyn Lofland will be swimming for the final time in their respective careers at the West Y. Lofland was the first Bronco to ever earn the WAC Swimmer of the Week honor when she was awarded the honor in the 2007-08 season. Lopus is currently the school record-holder in the 200 fly, which is a record she set last year at the WAC Championships. Keele helped the Broncos to their best-ever finish at the WAC Championships last year as she finished in the top-16 in the 100 breast, 200 breast and 400 IM.

The Competition: The Aggies will come into Boise looking for revenge after dropping a dual to the Broncos at the season-opening WAC Shootout. In that meet, the Broncos glided to a 141-99 victory. Since then, the Aggies have put together a 4-3 record in the WAC with wins over Fresno, Nevada, Northern Arizona and Idaho. However, the Aggies haven't fared quite as well outside of conference. They will enter Saturday's meet having dropped their last two duals to Arizona and Oregon State.

Big Splash: The third annual Big Splash will take place during the breaks of the meet with several members of the No. 4-ranked Boise State football team competing in a relay and diving competition. The diving competition will take place after the 3-meter diving event and the relay will happen during the break between the 100 fly and 200 IM. Chad and Hooker from the morning show on KISS 103.3 will help to host the annual event.

Poolside with Head Coach Kristin Hill:
"We look forward to more fast-swimming this weekend for Bronco Nation. New Mexico State was third at our WAC conference championships last season and are a well-coached team with good swimmers. We were able to beat them in October at the WAC Shootout and we'd like to do that again this weekend. We also look forward to celebrating our seniors at their final home dual meet of their careers. It has been a great season and we know the best is yet to come."
