PULLMAN, Wash. - The Boise State University swimming and diving team concluded its trip to the Palouse with a dual match against Washington State. Coming off a dual meet with Idaho on Friday, the Broncos swam valiantly against the Cougars but fell 103-56.

“This was a great trip for us to end our dual meet season,” said head coach Kristin Hill.  “It was a good part of the season and we are looking forward to the next two-and-half weeks where we will fine tune our skills before heading to the Western Athletic Conference Championships.”

Boise State set two school records during competition Saturday with the first coming in the 400 yard medley relay and the second in the 100 yard freestyle.

Although the relay team of Kendra MacLean, Nikki DeWane, Siobhan Gilmartin and Kelsey Woodfield, were exhibitioning the event they combined to swim a 4.35.64 which was over a half-second better than their previous mark of 4:36.29.

DeWane improved her time atop the Broncos’ leader board in the 100 yard freestyle when she registered a 58.23.

Washington State’s Gibb Pool does not have diving facilities so Jennifer Dorling did not participate in today’s competition.

The next meet on the Boise State swimming and diving team schedule is the WAC Championships which will be held Feb. 14-17 in San Antonio, Texas.
