Kleinsorgen Named Swimmer Of The Week
Jan. 17, 2017

BOISE, Idaho - For a conference-best fourth time this season the Mountain West Swimmer of the Week honor has gone to a Boise State student-athlete, as sophomore Ally Kleinsorgen claimed the prize Tuesday afternoon.

The honor is the first of Kleinsorgen's career and marks the third time over the past four announcements that a Bronco swimmer has heard her name called. Senior Brittany Aoyama has claimed the honor Oct. 11, Nov. 22 and Jan. 10 of this season.

Kleinsorgen won three events Saturday in Moscow as Boise State beat Idaho, 164-128, to improve to 3-1 on the year in head-to-head action. The Succasunna, N.J., native picked up another win in her signature event, the 100 back, in 54.89 to notch a second NCAA B cut and second top-10 Mountain West time this season. She picked up her other two wins in the relays which bookended the meet, posting top-10 conference times in both the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay.

This season Kleinsorgen has picked up four wins in the 100 back out of six races, with one of those races resulting in a fourth-place finish at the Art Adamson Invitational in which she clocked a 54.09, so far the second-fastest time in the Mountain West. She is also part of three Bronco relays (200 FR, 200 MR, 400 MR) which currently own the fastest times in the Mountain West.

Boise State continues its home stretch heading into the 2017 Mountain West Swimming and Diving Championships (Feb. 15-18) this week, traveling to dual meets at Wyoming (Friday) and at Denver (Saturday).
