Broncos Conclude UC Irvine Invitational

IRVINE, Calif. The Boise State University swimming and diving team concluded the UC Irvine Invitational Sunday, by competing in the diving and relay portions of the meet, setting three school records in the process.


The 200 yard freestyle relay team registered a time of 1:51.23 in the event to top the previous mark by over three seconds. 


The other Boise State relay record registered by the Broncos, Sunday, was turned in by their 800 yard freestyle relay team. This was the first time Boise State swimmers had competed in this event and they finished with a time of 8:50.39.


In the diving portion of the meet, Jennifer Dorling posted a career-best 153.90 in the three meter dive to place her first all-time among Boise State divers. She also scored a 161.60 in the one meter dive, just 12 points off her career best score in the event.


In other relay events, Boise State posted a 2:01.04 in the 200 medley relay, a 4:00.91 in the 3x100 breaststroke, a 3:31.57 in the 3x100 backstroke, a 9:00.85 in the (1,2,5) 800 yard relay, a 3:33.21 in the 3x100 yard individual medley and a 4:19.93 in the 400 yard freestyle relay.


The next competition for the Broncos will be in Boise, Idaho, when the team takes on Nevada in a two-team dual meet, Jan. 12-13, 2007, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Friday and 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
