TUCSON, Ariz.-The Boise State women's swimming and diving team fell 172-106 to the Arizona Wildcats in a dual meet on Saturday, Nov. 23 in Tucson, Ariz. The Broncos won four individual events in the meet, highlighted by freshman Felicity Cann's sub-five minute 500-yard freestyle.

Freshmen Brittany Aoyama and Felicity Cann each won two individual events in the dual meet. Aoyama claimed the top spot in the 100-yard butterfly (55.38) and the 50-yard butterfly (24.86). Cann won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:51.08, and the 500-yard freestyle in 4:59.37. Cann's time marked her second sub-five minute swim this season.

Junior Jessica Bottelberghe touched in the 100-yard freestyle in second, with a time of 51.46. Arizona's Margo Geer won the event in 49.87.

Devin Madsen placed in two individual events, taking second in the 100-yard backstroke (56.68) and the 50-yard freestyle (24.34).

The 200-yard freestyle relay of Bottelberghe, Sam Wicks, Aoyama and Madsen narrowly missed the win. The Broncos took second with a time of 1:35.09, just out of the Wildcats' time of 1:34.96.

"We had some strong swims today and it says a lot about this team to have so many who were aggressive in their races when we were going up against some of the very best swimmers in the country," head coach Kristin Hill said. "Winning four individual events and having the last relay come down to the final stroke was great."

The divers will complete the Wildcat Invitational on Sunday at 11 a.m. on the platform. The Broncos will now prepare for the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa, Dec. 6-8.
