Kohlbeck Tops Boise State Platform Effort

BOISE, Idaho-Boise State sophomore Erin Kohlbeck set a career best to finish seventh on platform Sunday, during the final day of competition at the Wildcat Diving Invitational in Tucson, Ariz. Kohlbeck's score of 211.35 led the Broncos, who all finished in the top 12.

Kohlbeck finished her day strong, receiving an average score of seven from the judges on her final dive to secure the best total of her career. The Sophomore from Woodbury, Minn., was the top Bronco diver in the event for the second-straight season at the Wildcat Invite. In 2011, Kohlbeck led Boise State on platform with a 151.95.

Junior Ciera Cortney and senior Lexi Pfeiffer finished 11th and 12th, respectively, in the event. Cortney- the top Bronco on both springboard events- scored 200.25, while Pfeiffer was right behind her at 199.05.

Pfeiffer also set a career best Sunday, coming up just short of her first-career 200-point performance on platform.

This was Boise State's first platform competition of the season. The Broncos will also tackle the tower next time out at the Missouri Invitational. The swimmers and divers will all travel to Columbia, Mo., Nov. 29-Dec. 2, for their fall focus meet.
