Cortney Advances to Finals on Three-Meter
TUCSON, Ariz.-Boise State junior Ciera Cortney took third-place in the consolation final of the three-meter event Friday, on the first day of the Wildcat Diving Invitational, in Tucson, Ariz. Cortney scored 269.40 in the final to finish 11th overall in the event.

Cortney became the first Bronco to advance to a finals heat on three-meter at the Wildcat Invite. This is the third-straight year Boise State has attended the meet. Once there, she recorded the fifth-best score in school history for a championship-style meet.

All three Broncos recorded top-25 finishes in the prelims, a field of 42 competitors. They were led by Cortney's 259.35 for 10th place. That score is No. 7 on the all-time list at championship-style meets. Senior Lexi Pfeiffer finished 20th with a score of 234.95. Rounding out the Boise State contingent was sophomore Erin Kohlbeck's 25th-place finish with 222.60. Kohlbeck's score is a career best at championship-style meets.

The Wildcat Diving Invitational continues Saturday, with the one-meter event. Cortney took 12th in the event at last year's meet. The rest of the Boise State swimming and diving team will be in action Saturday, as the swimmers will also be in Tucson to square off against No. 13 Arizona. Both events begin at Noon (MT), from Hillenbrand Aquatic Center.
