Orange Beats Blue in Alumnae/Intrasquad Meet

BOISE, Idaho- The Orange Team used strong performances in the relay events to hang on for a 146-123 win in the inaugural Boise State Alumnae Meet Saturday, at the Kinesiology Annex Pool.

Orange took the top three spots in the 200-yard medley relay and the top two positions in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Sydney Johansen led the Orange Team with 19 points, winning the 50- and 100-yard breaststroke events.

Jessica Bottelberghe and Devin Madsen helped the Blue Team stay within striking distance. Bottelberghe led all competitors with 27.5 points in individual events. She won three races and added a third-place finish. Madsen won the 50-, 100- and 200-yard backstroke events.

Stephanie North turned in the top performance among the alumnae. North tied with former teammate Bottelberghe in the 50-yard freestyle in 23.89.

Boise State welcomed back 18 alumnae, representing each of the first six years of the program. The seventh season of Bronco swimming and diving continues Nov. 3, at Oregon State.
