Boise State Wraps Up Day Two at Nationals

MINNEAPOLIS--The Broncos finished day two of competition at the 2014 NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships. Boise State’s swimmers competed in three events on Friday, including the 200-medley relay, 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard backstroke.

The Broncos started day two of competition with the 200 medley relay. The relay squad of Sam Wicks, Sydney Johansen, Brittany Aoyama and Katelyn Martin punched a time of 1:39.72 (29th place).

Aoyama swam her second individual event of the meet on Friday. The freshman clocked a 53.64 in the 100-yard butterfly for 44th place.

Wicks, a sophomore from Anchorage, Alaska, also competed in her second individual event of the meet. Wicks placed 36th in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 53.59.

The Broncos will take to the pool one last time this season tomorrow, Saturday, March 22, with the action starting at 11 a.m. (CT). Aoyama and Wicks will compete in the 100-yard freestyle, and the Broncos will compete in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
