Broncos Close Day Three In Atlanta

    ATLANTA -- Three Bronco swimmers and the 200 medley relay were in action during Friday morning's prelims at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Atlanta.

    Brittany Aoyama (100 fly), Emma Chard (200 free) and Sam Wicks (100 back) all competed in individual events, while the foursome of Wicks, Aoyama, Chard and Martin made up the Bronco 200 medley relay.

    Aoyama was up first Friday morning, taking third in heat three with a time of 52.89, finishing 29th overall. Chard, up next in the 200 free, took fifth in heat five in a time of 1:46.55, good for an overall finish of 36th.

    Wicks closed out the individual events for the Broncos, clocking a time of 53.01 for eighth in heat five and tying for 31st overall.

    The Broncos 200 medley relay of Wicks, Chard, Aoyama and Martin finished eighth in heat two in 1:39.46, 22nd overall.

    Boise State will wrap up competition at the meet Saturday with the 400 free relay. Saturday's prelims will be available to watch live online at http://atlantaswimming.com/Webcast, with the finals set to be broadcast online on ESPN3.
