Boise State Wraps Day Two At NCAAs

    ATLANTA -- Boise State swimmers competed in the prelims on day two of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Atlanta Thursday.

    The 200 free relay was in action, as well as Emma Chard (500 free) and Sam Wicks (200 IM). None advanced out of prelims.

    The 200 free relay of Wicks, Brittany Aoyama, Abbey Sorensen and Katelyn Martin finished 22nd with a time of 1:30.20, the sixth-fastest time in school history. The quartet missed out on Thursday night’s consolation finals by just 0.84 of a second.

    Chard was up next in the 500 free prelims. She went on to finish seventh in heat eight, with a time of 4:43.83, good for 33rd. Wicks, in the 200 IM prelims, clocked a time of 2:00.92 to finish 52nd in prelims.

    Bronco swimmers will be back in action Friday, beginning with preliminary heats at 8 a.m. MT. Wicks will compete in the 100 back while Brittany Aoyama will swim in the 100 fly. The Bronco 200 medley relay will also be in action.

    Friday's prelims will be available to watch live online at http://atlantaswimming.com/Webcast, with the finals set to be broadcast online on ESPN3.
